Celebrating the life of

James Russell Hardy

November 30, 1948 - October 03, 2023

James Russell Hardy

James Russell Hardy, 74, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October, 3, 2023 following a long illness. Russell was born on November 30, 1948 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eufaula, Alabama. Russell attended Ashford High School where he was Valedictorian of his graduating class of 1967. Following high school Russell moved to Savannah, where he attended Armstrong College and met the love of his life, Tina. They married in 1970, and began a lifetime of adventures, facing all of life's challenges hand in hand. Russell was a gentle soul and a good man, with an engaging smile and sharp wit. He enjoyed working with his hands, whether using his carpentry skills or employing his extraordinary green thumb to create amazing landscape architecture, he had a passion for creating beautiful spaces that were a reflection of his love of nature. He will be missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Russell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Tina Hardy, two brothers, David and Mark Hardy, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, from 5-7 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 7, at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel of Faith.
